Here's a few FAQs that I absolutely know will be asked:
What happens to the board?
Nothing for now. Our priority is re-launching the FreeOnes site on a better, more stable platform vs. the spaghetti code base it has become after 20 years. Once we get all the required features, and all the new features that we think will be of value to visitors implemented, then we'll turn our focus to the board and decide if we want to leave it be or do something with it.
Will I be able to continue logging in with just 1 username and password?
We're hoping to make it like it is right now, if you're logged into the main site and come to the board you're still logged in and vice versa. However, the main site's account is using your email as your "username" so you won't be able to just use your board username to log into that side.
What happens to all the credits I've earned, my bought galleries, favorites, etc?
Those will all be sent over to the new site. We've been working on the favorite babes for awhile now but as some people noticed, have been running into issues. Those will all be smoothed over by launch! Promise! There's a reason we're calling www.freeones.la the BETA site right now.
As far as credits go, at launch the credit system will be down as we still have to design the tech behind the new system. There's some behind the scenes stuff needed to be done with this (like getting a database expert to sketch out a plan) but it's the first thing we'll be doing after launch. Until we can get the new system up and running, we do plan on either having myFreeOnes up as a read only site or we'll port an overview of your credits and transactions to your new account. Regardless, nothing will be lost.
We're investigating what to do with the myFreeOnes galleries. Either you'll be able to see what you've bought on the old myFreeOnes or we'll have them on the new site. More info on that later!
Why do you have to even bother with a new site? I like the old one just fine!
Unfortunately, no code base lasts forever. Tech and code language that was best practice or the modern thing has become obsolete, isn't supported anymore, etc and so on. We've also had enough developers work on the current site that it's become a mess so something that should only take 5 minutes to implement has become hours. This means that trying to add new features, opportunities, etc becomes harder and harder.
Ok, then just keep the old site up along side the new site.
Are you going to pay for that? No, seriously though, it's already a headache trying to keep the BETA and current site up to date with the same content right now. This is NOT something we want to do long term or is really even feasible to do long term. So once we re-launch, the only way to see the current site will be the Way Back Machine.
Will the babe ranking system be the same on the new site?
Yes and no. It will take into account everything that already is taken into account such as babe ratings, searches, visits to the page, etc. However, we'll be adding in new metrics to the mix such as rate of new content releases or if a babe has taken over her profile and made it "officially checked." We'll be adding in ways for babes to be interactive with visitors and that will go into it.
Is the dark blue the new FreeOnes colors?
NO! Again, this is the BETA site. For whatever reason, we started with the dark theme first. We're working on getting the light theme implemented and it will be there for the launch. However, if you like the dark theme better you'll be able to toggle that as a logged in user! (maybe even have other color themes in the future!)
What Features are Coming Up on the BETA Site?
We cleaned up the BETA so that we didn't have random features that weren't quite usable floating around for anyone to see. We literally swept all that under the carpet and only have the things that are ready for public consumption.
The following are done, but we're putting the finishing touches on them before releasing them for the world to see:
- Video play lists
- What's new page
- Explore page
- Links index page (like babes, videos, photos but where you can see and filter for all the links)
- Channels (like the babe section but for sites)
- Pay site reviews
- Saved search page (you'll be able to save your searches)
